Boca Raton – a very nice town, and contrary to its reputation – it isn’t all snooty, expensive and upscale. There are some great fine dining and wining experiences to be had in Boca but also, some “regular” places, too! Read on...and enjoy! And remember, if you want to have a wedding, party, corporate function or any type of event in Boca, don't hesitate to ask for my assistance. 90% of the time I save you more than the cost of my fee! Boca has some great event venues.
Casual Drinking and Dining
The Wishing Well pub is on Mizner Blvd just south of Palmetto Park... a bar-lover's kinda place. Roomy seating area, pool table upstairs, and they have “the real beers”. It’s an Irish Pub with a nice staff and a fun, “off the scene” hangout that sometimes has live music on weekends.
111 SE Mizner Blvd, Boca Raton, FL 33432  (561) 750-5208
If you love a good sandwich, if you miss New York, if you crave Italian meats and cheeses, if you know what Broccoli Rabe is, if your favorite ingredient is garlic, if you love Ciabatta bread – for all these reasons and more, Talia’s Tuscan Table is a must-do!  Killer sandwiches on ciabatta (try the Bronx Bomber – damn!) and great risottos, pastas, entrees. Open for lunch, they close around 7 PM so if going after work, call first. At the NE corner of Dixie Hwy and Spanish River beside the Auto supply store. You’ll go back again and again! Tell owner-wiseguy-chef Andy that Priscilla sent you!
4070 N Dixie Hwy, Boca Raton, FL 33431 (561)-347-5730
Brewzi’s on the south side of Glades Rd just a few blocks west of 95 has amazing food – the mile-high meatloaf, the big burger, the brick-oven pizza – all are excellent. And they brew nice beers including ones with a hint of fruit (seasonal). Well worth a visit but be hungry. And it gets crowded most nights from 7 PM on.
2222 Glades Road, Boca!  (561)-392-BREW
A best kept secret – the Pool Bar at the Renaissance Hotel off of Glades Rd. You don’t need a room key to pull in, park your car, and visit the pool bar for a nice frozen colada. You could even take a quick dip before you leave – they don’t mind.
2000 NW 19th Street Boca Raton, Florida 33431  (561)-368-5252

DORSIA RESTAURANT is upscale casual and serves gourmet Italian food. Cozy, trendy, chic, and a delicious menu. Located on Federal Hwy near Yamato Rd.

The Cheese Course in Mizner Park
Kinda like a deli, kinda like a wine bar, kinda like a cafe - all in one. Eat and enjoy tasting wines and beers - food and cheese plates are outstanding.
Mizner Park 305 Plaza Real #1305 Boca Raton, FL 33432  561-395-4354

The Dubliner - Mizner Park
Lively Irish pub with yummy food at affordable prices. Also listed under the Live Music section since they have bands or a musician several evenings a week.

Taverna Kyma
Absolutely delicious food. The stuffed peppers, moussaka and pasticcio are the best you'd ever find! Happy Hour drink and food discounts every day at the bar. Just love this place! Lively and busy most nights especially in season.
6298 N. Federal Hwy Boca Raton  561-994-2828
Fine Dining
Arturo's offers fine dining, Italian of course! Try the seafood antipasto! A bit pricy but very nice. 6750 North Federal Highway  Boca Raton, FL 33487
Maggiano’s is a landmark Italian restaurant near the Boca Town Center Mall and I must admit, the food is very good. If you like Italian food, you’ll be pleased. Gets busy wkend nights so go early or late or call.
21090 Saint Andrews Boulevard, Boca Raton, FL 33433  (561) 361-8244
Another very nice, delicious, but pricey Italian restaurant is on Federal Hwy just south of Yamato on west side – La Violetta. Service is tops and so are the sauces and soups.
Seasons 52 is a chain, which I usually avoid, but I’ve gotta say, their menu impresses me. So does their service. All their dishes are lower calorie and lighter than other restaurants, yet delicious! They specialize in seasonal fruits and vegetables and their menu changes 4 times a year. They have these lovely little “shotglass” desserts that are to die for. Just west of 95 beside Glades Rd.
2300 NW Executive Center Dr., Boca Raton, FL 33431 (561) 998-9952

South end of Mizner Park - yes more Italian food but well done. I like the cool environment. Dark, modern, swank, with a "cave" under the indoor trees. Hats off for originality. 301 Plaza Real  Boca Raton  561 922 6699
Bogart’s Restaurant is a place where you can be casually dressed or more dressed up – I love the Premiere Theatre here because you can dine at Bogart’s then head into the theatre and take your wine, martini or appetizer in with you! Now that’s cool! And guys love the big seats in the Premiere -  lotsa leg room!
3200 Airport Rd, Cinemark 20 Boca Raton,  FL 33431 (561)-544-3044

The Pavilion Grille is a unique restaurant, bar and entertainment venue with a diverse menu, great food, and a wide variety of musical acts, bands, DJs -- from jazz to dance music, country to Doo Wop. Have dinner - stay to be entertained! Best of all, parking is free!
Max's Grille in Mizner Park has outstanding food and I like the bustling atmosphere and trendy vibe. Awesome wings. Perfectly made martinis, nice wine list. Love the outdoor sidewalk bar and the giant meatball. Bravo!
404 Plaza Real, Boca Raton, FL 33432 (561) 368-0080
Casa D Angelo
LOVE that they bring cheese, olives and brushetta to the table right at the start!
1201 N. Fed. Hwy #5B  561 996 1234

Racks - Mizner Park
They have the nicest outdoor/barside seating /lounging area, and the appetizers are all delicious. Great place for a cocktail and a bite. Say hello to manager Marco for me, my pal.
Live Music
Shout out to the Funky Biscuit!
Great bands Weds Thurs Fri Sat nights!  All types of music. Worth a visit! Affordable food and drink. 303 SE Mizner Blvd  Boca Raton, FL 33432  561 395 2929

A pub that occasionally has live bands on weekends is The Wishing Well on Mizner Blvd. Also the Blue Martini at the Boca mall and The Pavilion on Yamato Rd. and Dixie have bands on Friday nights and sometimes on weeknights, check their websites.

Also under the casual category, The Duck on Federal Hwy at Jeffrey St. is a fun, lively, happy place to be on Fri. nights with their awesome band! These guys do it all – old, new, slow, fast, covers galore! Guitarists Peter White and Scott Avery both play at the Duck individually on Thurs. and Sat. night. But Friday eves rock, and the food is cheap and good. Ladies if you feel like flashing, just do it for the drummer. Note the crowd is mostly younger but I see all ages there and you go for the band, not the crowd.
5901 N. Federal Hwy. (US1), Boca Raton, FL 33487  (561) 998-8288
Mizner Park Amphitheatre has great outdoor concerts and affordable ticket prices – go online to see who is coming.
You can opt to stay outside the theatre and hear but not see the bands, which is fun too. Bring a picnic basket. FYI - This is a great place to be on Easter Sunday morning for their big, musical, outdoor Easter service.
The Dubliner Irish pub in Mizner Park gets great bands for the 20-something to 40-something crowd. Playing U2, Dave Matthews, Beatles alternative rock, old rock. Good food here too and great beer selection. Always a nice crowd.
435 Plaza Real Boca Raton, FL 33432  (561) 620-2540
Dancing in Boca Raton

Weds. through Sat. nights the dance floor is usually jumpin. 99 SE 1st Avenue, Boca Raton. 33432. Go ahead, wear that jumpsuit!

For the late 40's and up crowd, this is a fabulous place to enjoy dancing several nights a week. The Pavilion Grille, located at the NE corner of Dixie Hwy and Yamato Rd. in North Boca, has different types of music on different nights – call or visit their site for details. They have live bands most Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Every Weds. is ballroom dancing. Phone  (561) 912-0000  Click here for Entertainment lineup.

Semi-casual, Waterfront! Watch the boats go by...
Waterstone Restaurant at the Waterstone Resort & Marina (formerly the Bridge Hotel) is such a neat place! On the water, boats going by, at the inlet at Camino Real bridge (A1A, south of Palmetto Park Rd). Totally remodeled and just completed Feb. 2014, this upscale hotel has a fine restaurant called Boca Landing.

Priscilla's Places to Stay in Boca Raton
Speaking of hotels, the Boca Raton Hotel is a luxurious landmark and in the summer, you can actually afford to stay there! They have a shuttle boat that takes you to their priate beach club. Like that!
501 East Camino Real Boca Raton, Fl  (888)-543-1277
The Renaissance Hotel is a nice spot for events and weddings – lots of amenities and nice areas to gather on one property. A very good restaurant with good food and wine, and a great pool and patio area, big veranda. Stayed there for a weekend and felt relaxed but had some fun, too. For wedding assistance, see www.weddingsandeventsfl.com

Other Recommendations
A few things outside of the “dine-drink-dance” categories that I recommend in Boca are:
-A visit to Morikami Gardens at the Boca-Delray border. Beautiful place! Nice box lunch (sushi lovers will smile). Lovely place for a wedding – and YES – I plan events there!
-Catch a concert – any type of music – in Mizner Park. The setting is so great! Whether you buy a ticket and go inside, or just “camp out” on the lawn (I call it Classy Woodstock) – you will enjoy it! Go before the concert and grab a drink  and the fabulous wings at Maxx’s or a wine and appetizer at Pranzo’s – it’s really a good time. Just stroll Mizner Park anytime and feel "Boca-ish". :- )
-The Boca Raton Art Museum on Federal Hwy in Boca is well worth a visit.
-Try to see Spanish River Park if you’ve never been. SO pretty! Take a cooler and grill up some burgers in the grand outdoors! It’s on A1A in Boca Raton and a great place to spend an afternoon with someone special or the whole family.
